We are seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Chemist to translate R&D Chemistry into scalable process and product innovations, unlocking breakthrough approaches to biopolymer manufacturing and customized material solutions. This role will play a pivotal part in enhancing process efficiency, supporting the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, and designing biopolymer formulations tailored for differentiated performance. Candidates with a strong background in process chemistry, leadership in cross-functional settings, experience in polymer processing and characterization are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with Polylactic Acid (PLA), biopolymers or polyesters will be considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Support
- Collaborate closely with the production and process engineering teams to troubleshoot.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the plant, including raw material assessment, process optimization, and quality enhancement.
- Lead technical investigations during plant commissioning, process scale-up, and new product introduction.
Analytical Chemistry & Characterization
- Plan and oversee the testing of raw materials, polymers, and related formulations using techniques such as:
- Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
- Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
- Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
- FTIR, NMR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy
- Mechanical and rheological analysis
- Interpret complex data to guide decision-making and provide actionable insights for process and product development.
Innovation & Collaborative Research Projects
- Work with internal and external partners, including labs, research centers, universities, customers, Sales and Technical Solutions team to optimize, innovate our products and processes.
- Prepare technical reports, research summaries, and presentations.
- Stay updated on new developments in polymer chemistry, bioplastics, and material science.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Actively support the development, performance management, and career growth of team members reporting into this role.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and learning-driven environment within the team.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant industrial experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proven track record in R&D in chemicals, polymers, preferably in biopolymers
- Direct involvement in manufacturing or plant operations support, especially within a polymer or chemical production setting.
- Experience with PLA or related biobased/biodegradable polyesters is a strong plus.
